There is a way of experiencing Lake Como that transcends the ticking of the clock. It is a time made of silver reflections on the water's surface, the scent of botanical gardens, and the silence enjoyed from the windows of a historic residence. This itinerary is not a race between monuments, but an invitation to slow down, to breathe in the timeless elegance of the Lario and to let yourself be pampered by the beauty of excellent hospitality.
Day 1: Friday — The Arrival and the Embrace of the Lario

Focus: The check-in of the senses and the first contact with the water.
Lunch: Welcome to the city. After checking into your hotel, perhaps at Mimesis 11, start your weekend with a light lunch in one of the bistros near Piazza Volta. Enjoy your first coffee while admiring the slow movement of the city preparing for the weekend.
Afternoon: Mimesis11 as a destination. Dedicate the early afternoon to discovering your refuge: Mimesis11. This boutique hotel will not just be your place to sleep, but an integral part of the "slow" experience. Take possession of your lake-view room: open the windows, listen to the sound of the water, and let yourself be enchanted by the refined design that dialogues with the external landscape.
Late afternoon. Don't be in a hurry to go out. Enjoy a private aperitif on the terrace or in the lounge area of the boutique hotel, watching the lights begin to flicker on the opposite shore.
Dinner. A short walk towards the center for dinner in a gourmet restaurant specializing in revisited local flavors. I recommend Ristorante Lo Storico, in the heart of Como's historic center, reachable with a 10-minute walk from Mimesis11.
Day 2: Saturday — History and Enchantment from Above

Focus: Architecture, silk, and aerial perspectives.
Morning: A stroll through the "Città Murata". Head down towards the heart of Como. Admire the Duomo and let yourself be drawn to the details of the Broletto. The pace should be that of a flâneur: stop to look at the windows of the historic silk shops and treat yourself to a purchase that speaks of craftsmanship.
Lunch. An informal meal among the medieval alleys of Piazza San Fedele.
Afternoon: Villa Olmo and the Kilometer of Knowledge. Walk along the lakeside promenade towards Villa Olmo. Admire the neoclassical grandeur of the structure and relax in its gardens. If you have the energy, continue along the pedestrian path that connects the most beautiful villas in the area.
Sunset: The balcony over the lake. Take the funicular up to Brunate. From here, the lake looks like a drawing on a map. Watch the sun disappear behind the mountains before returning to the enveloping comfort of Mimesis11.
Day 3: Sunday — The Rhythm of the Waves

Focus: Gentle navigation and hidden villages.
Morning: Awakening with a view. Enjoy breakfast at Mimesis11 with extreme calm. The lake view from the breakfast room is the best way to tune into the day's frequencies.
Morning: En plein air navigation. Take one of the characteristic lake motorboats and enjoy the story of the most iconic villas along the lake, the tales and events that took place within the evocative settings of these enchanted places.
Lunch. A table with a lake view in Como, tasting freshly caught lake fish.
Afternoon: Return and contemplation. After lunch, enjoy a walk along the lake and then return to Mimesis for a nap, before dedicating yourself to a moment of absolute contemplation with the canvas drawing workshop while watching the sunset change the colors of the lake.
Evening: Dinner with a view of the lake. Traveling by car or taxi, ask to be taken to Ristorante Una Finestra sul Lago, possibly during the first dinner seating to coincide with the blue hour. The view is evocative and the tasting journey is truly worth the visit.
Local Tip
If traveling from the south, I recommend flying to Milan and then renting a car. Alternatively, Mimesis offers a chauffeur service.
