Where: Via Santa Maria alla Porta, Milan
A hidden treasure in the heart of Milan

In Milan, you can often stumble upon special little places that are, unfortunately, not too touristy. Some places have never even been seen by the Milanese themselves, whether native or adopted. Have you ever seen the Madonna with the Apron?
Not too far from the historic center, not too distant from the Duomo, lies this small open-air treasure. Santa Maria alla Porta is the street and, incorporated into the church of the same name, if you turn the corner... you will be captivated by this Madonna.
The legend of the apron

It is said that an apron was forgotten by the discoverer of this jewel while he was trying to clean it. This gentleman, once he finished cleaning the place, was inexplicably cured of a lameness that had tortured him since birth.
The place is magical. The original floor provides a thrill that tastes of rediscovered ancient things.
Local tip
The Madonna with the Apron is located just a seven-minute walk from the Duomo stop.
