With the arrival of summer and the great heat, a weekend getaway in the cool air is, I believe, ideal. A fresh and light breeze, good air, enchanting landscapes. Immersed in nature.
Day 1: Discovering Branzi

Going up into Val Brembana, towards Foppolo, you reach wonderful landscapes. Already along the way, letting your gaze wander into the greenery, you will spot waterfalls that plunge headlong from the mountain into the stream that runs alongside the road. Ancient bridges and the wonderful, verdant mountains will accompany you on the journey. Once you arrive in Branzi, lose yourself along the streets of the small ancient village and let yourself be cradled by this slow pace. Local spots, typical small shops, and walks will lead you through a village frozen in time. Relaxation and coolness are guaranteed.
Day 2: From Branzi to Carona along the Via Piana

Good morning, ready for an excursion into nature? If you love walking, I recommend reaching Carona on foot, starting right from Branzi. There are signs for the Via Piana, a beautiful walk that connects the two towns. At the foot of the waterfall, take the Borleggia path and climb into the woods. From here, the view over Branzi is spectacular. Continuing the walk, immersed in the local nature, you will also find some slightly more complex passages close to the mountain ridge, before reaching Carona on a flat walk.
ATTENTION!! In the mountains, you must set out equipped: adequate clothing (the climate changes quickly and you can get cold), boots suitable for walking in the woods, poles if you want secure support, and pay attention at the sheer drop-off points. It is not suitable for everyone.
The walk can be done in about an hour, but I invite you to take it slowly and enjoy what the landscape offers you. Once you arrive in Carona, an aperitif or a typical meal will give you comfort. To rest a bit, the lake is perfect.
Day 3: The refuges of the Alpi Orobiche

On the third day, I recommend pushing yourself a bit further up. You have two beautiful walks waiting for you and many refuges ready to welcome you. You can start from the lake and reach the Laghi Gemelli refuge, or arrive in the locality of Pagliari and from there begin the walk to the Calvi refuge. They are both beautiful walks in the Alpi Orobiche. I always invite you to observe your surroundings for a 360-degree experience and to capture the local flora and fauna. I am sure you will return home with the upper Val Brembana in your heart.
Local advice
I recommend visiting these places in summer, where you will find refreshment from the summer heat of the cities, and also because in summer the mountain comes alive.
