Where to Stay
The best areas to stay are the Historic Center (for the authentic atmosphere), Via Toledo and Piazza Municipio (strategic location), Chiaia and Via Santa Teresa (quieter), and the areas near Metro Line 1, such as Materdei and Piazza Plebiscito.
Things to know before you go:
By train: Napoli Centrale Station (Piazza Garibaldi) is right in the center, served by Trenitalia and Italo high-speed trains, and connected to Metro Lines 1 and 2.
By plane: Naples Capodichino Airport can be reached by Alibus, the fastest way to get to the Central Station and the port.
Do not arrive by car. Do not rent cars or motorcycles: parking is very expensive and the historic center is best explored on foot. To get around, use Metro Line 1 or the funiculars to reach Vomero.
