From its height of 387m above sea level, the territory of Mottola embraces the entire Gulf of Taranto. Its territory boasts countless rock settlements, earning it the epithet of Land of the caves of God. For nature lovers, Mottola boasts two great landscapes: to the south we find the Petruscio ravine, while to the north we have the large Sant’Antuono wood. The ancient Historic Center called Schiavonia, with its white houses, is located in the center of the town.
